Trinity Firearms Training is founded on the three principles noted above:

Trinity Training is based in Des Moines, Iowa and is owned and operated by me, Roger Burdette, an NRA certified firearms instructor.

The new Iowa permit to carry weapons law [as of 01/01/2011] requires that applicants present proof of training when applying to their county Sheriff for a permit to carry weapons. This training is mandated to be a “handgun safety training course” taught by an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor or a certified law enforcement instructor.

I offer such a course to the public at various locations around Iowa.

Upon completion of my course the student will receive a certificate of completion which the student/applicant will take to the Sheriff of their county of residence to apply for the Permit to Carry Weapons.

My course covers handgun safety, the new law and what it means to you as an armed citizen, places you can and cannot carry your firearm, specific Iowa law on use of force, situational awareness/conflict avoidance, other states that honor the Iowa permit, how to choose a firearm and holster for carry, and many other aspects of going armed for personal defense.
This is a four hour class and the cost is $50.00.

The Iowa PTC class I present is not an NRA certified course of instruction, as it is not required to be by Iowa law.
I present much more than a basic safety class.

I require preregistration for all classes. Class size is only limited by the capacity of the meeting room. The minimum class size is fifteen. If you want to host a class we can discuss it and then plan on a date and time at a venue which you secure. I will travel statewide to present a class.
